We're excited to share with our AAC community that we've begun officially awarding playground communication boards. These schools are dedicated to inclusion and supporting complex communicators, and adding a playground board is just another tool in the toolbox!. Look for boards in early 2020 at the following Michigan schools: Alameda`Early Childhood Center in Farmington,Rosebush Early Learning Center, South Redford elementary, Allendale Elementary, and Lakeview Elementary in Negaunee, Mi.

We still have a few more to award out for this round, and are looking for connections to assist in shipping charges for those schools that are unable to pick up. Get in touch with us, if you can help with this project!

I was fortunate to be a guest presenter at the Westland Rotary Club in October. They were so receptive and enthusiastic about our mission, that they agreed to collaborate and support two installations!

Look for a board at Stottlemeyer Elementary, which houses a few different programs including Wayne County Early On services. This building and staff, hold a special place in my heart as that's where our special education journey began back in 2013. We had a very dedicated ,invested ECSE teacher come to our home for weekly lessons, and I religiously took her to every Thursday morning playgroup, where we met and still keep in touch with those little friends! We occasionally run into that teacher, and I always think back, to the WHAT IF, we had been exposed to AAC back then? So I am so very excited to give these teachers and kids, early exposure to an alternative means of communication. I BELIEVE IN THEM, and so should YOU!!!.

As always, thank you for following our page and growth, and sharing our site. We are planning or 2020 projects including more playground boards and trainings. To help fund our mission and growth, SAVE THE DATE for our first annual CiK GOLF OUTING FUNDRAISER, SATURDAY JUNE 13, 2020.

Sending peace, love, and rest to you all during this holiday season!

Julia
